“Live each day as if it…

“Live each day as if it’s your last’, that was the conventional advice, but really, who had the energy for that? What if it rained or you felt a bit glandy? It just wasn’t practical. Better by far to simply try and be good and courageous and bold and to make a difference. Not change the world exactly, but the bit around you. Go out there with your passion and your electric typewriter and work hard at…something. Change lives through art maybe. Cherish your friends, stay true to your principles, live passionately and fully and well. Experience new things. Love and be loved, if you ever get the chance.”
― David Nicholls, One Day”

I love everything about this.

Don’t think twice

Sometimes, you just have to put your thoughts aside, ignore any inevitable hesitation, and take a risk. Whether that risk be saying how you feel at any given moment, accepting a dinner invitation from someone that intrigues you, or even signing up for a flying lesson over Niagara Falls, which I actually just did this morning (so excited) — forget your reservations and just do it already. The moment may pass or the opportunity may not present itself again.

If it doesn’t work out, oh well. But at least you’ll be looking back evaluating something you did do, rather than something you didn’t. Stop thinking twice. Instead, allow your life to be dictated by instinctive risks that could quite possibly lead you to some of the most memorable experiences of your life.
